2020 NCBW-SGVC Scholarships
GUIDELINES AND CRITERIA FOR NCBW-SGVC SCHOLARSHIP

When to Apply:

Students must apply for the NCBW-SGVC scholarship during their senior year in high school, first through fourth year of college or as a graduate student.

 

How to Apply:

The application can be downloaded (in Word) on this web page and should be submitted with all supporting documents via US mail to: NCBW-SGVC, Attn: Regina Crenshaw, P.O. Box 92387, Pasadena, CA 91109. Email: ncbwsangabrielvalley.info@gmail.com.


To be considered for a NCBW-SGVC Scholarship, a student must:

  1. Apply for the NCBW-SGVC Scholarship by completing the scholarship application (including essay question), beginning February 18th of each applicable scholarship year.
     

  2. Demonstrate leadership through academic achievements and campus/community activities.
     

  3. Have an overall grade point average of 2.5 or higher.
     

  4. Be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program for the fall semester of the applicable scholarship year.
     

  5. As a graduating high school senior provide proof of enrollment (e.g. college, vocational, or technical school acceptance letter) into an institution of study.
     

  6. Mail official sealed school transcripts to NCBW-SGVC Scholarship Committee’s attention, P.O. Box 92387, Pasadena, CA 91109.
     

  7. Enclose with your application a recent photo of yourself, such as your school photo, preferably a color head shot measuring at least 3x5 inches.  This photo may be used in internal and external articles if you are a recipient.
     

  8. Provide a letter of recommendation from a teacher, community or public service leader (i.e. church leader, community leader, volunteer organization).
     

  9. Be a U.S. citizen. Proof of citizenship required (certified copy of birth certificate, U.S. passport, or Naturalization papers).
     

  10. Complete the required essay (minimum 250 words), which states what your current goals.
     

  11. Once submitted, all information and materials become the property of NCBW-SGVC, and will not be returned. All information will be kept confidential in accordance with NCBW-SGVC standard practice.
     

  12. Adhere to the deadline of May 20th of each applicable scholarship year.
